JoJo-Mad Love [review]

'Mad Love' is the third studio album from JoJo. She cam out awhile ago and put out two studio albums, then she took a hiatus. Well, she put this album out in 2016 and I'm glad she did. When I was around 13 years old she came out and I developed the biggest crush on her, but not just for her looks. She is extremely talented and soulful, and I heard something different in her than I have from any other pop singer that was out. She's more R&B with a little hip hop influence thrown in. This album definitely shows that in the music, but the music has a lot of heart and soul.  'Mad Love' showcases the talent and the passion that JoJo has. The beginning of the album is absolutely beautiful. She has truth in her lyrics. The second song on the album 'I can only.' is sick !
A common themes in a lot of these songs is about loving yourself, acceptance, encouragement, and fun. A lot of the songs on the album, especially in the second half are incredibly vibey. JoJo sings as if her voice is a battle cry for self-worth, for believing in yourself, and being strong. She sounds like in her hiatus that she went through a lot. It sounds like these songs are lessons given to us on what she's learned about all of us, and it's presented to us in a pop/r&b light. JoJo is a true artist. Each song on 'Mad Love' has it's own identity in sound and in message, all with emphasis on hope in the end. From slow love songs to club bangers, each song shows skill and substance, I absolutely am glad that I listened to this album, and it's a sure treat for any pop fans out there.
