Shura- Nothing's Real Review

Nothing's Real is the first studio album from English indie pop artist Shura. Shura has been around for a few years prior to this album, releasing singles and working with electronic artist Hiatus. Nothing's Real takes the trials of growing up, relationships, rejection, even panic, and turns these things into an 80's dance pop record with an indie twist. All the music is electronic with groovy drums and hi hat, and lots of guitar. The album is very successful in allowing you to comprehend what Shura has written about. She comes across as relatable, and the music is infectious.
Playing in all different speeds and tempos, each song feels like an individual piece in this cohesive story of love and loss. With choruses that are catchier than others, they will nonetheless be stuck in your head after a full play through of the album. Shura, being a huge Mass Effect fan, incorporated a lot of space sounding effects into some songs allowing for you to enjoy a slew of different inspirations that went into this record. Shura's 'Nothing's Real' is a solid and very enjoyable pop record with great replay value and character.
