Yaeji- EP2 [review]

                          Yaeji is an NYC-based dj/singer/rapper. Her music on this album vocal wise, is a mix of English and Korean language. The music is electronic house dance music that is incredibly vibey with obvious influence of hip hop and NY street culture. Being from NY myself, i can hear the NY vibe all over this. She makes club bangers with smooth vocals that compliment the music perfectly. They are very lackadaisical, but with swagger. Almost if Wiz Khalifa was a korean electronic musician. All in all, the music is so dope and I was very happy to stumble upon her. 'EP2' ends with a cover of Drake's 'Passionfruit'. Yaeji's version of  'Passionfruit' is a great take on the song. It doesn't stray too far from the original, but it is quite different. The stand out track on the album would be the third track titled 'drink i'm sippin on'. It was the first track I listened to, and I immediately became a fan. 'EP2' was released earlier this month, so go check it out now and dance !
